About Me

Hello,

My name is Graham Ornstein, and I am a student at Greenwich High School. Innovation Lab naturally appealed to me since I am a hands-on learner, and I like working on long term projects. This is my Innovation Lab blog, where I will be posting updates on things that I will be doing at school, and where I will talk about my experiences as a student at Greenwich High School.

Some of my hobbies include photography, which is one of my main interests, videography, editing, and tinkering. I am constantly building things, whether practical or not. I have built many robots, ROVs (Remote Operated Vehicles), and I am a big drone enthusiast. My favorite tool for creating things and turning a digital idea into a physical one is my 3D printer. I have made countless things on the 3D printer, and it lives in my room for easy access to a possible idea. I have about 2 years of CAD (Computer Aided Design) experience and am very comfortable in programs such as Autodesk Fusion 360 and others, which are very complicated programs. I can fix just about anything, and my knowledge of computers has led me to enjoy building, repairing, and repurposing old computers. I have a VPN (Virtual Private Network) server running in my room, which is built out of old computer parts and some server knowledge. It allows me to access my NAS (Network Attached Storage) server from anywhere in the world, as well as encrypting my network traffic and essentially making me untraceable. For me, being untraceable is key to surviving this digital world, and as technology becomes more advanced, I encourage everyone to work to make their digital footprint less of a possible issue.

On a different note, I am a dedicated audiophile, and I am constantly adding speakers to the audio system that I have built in my room. The audio setup in my room is a great example of not spending much money to complete an otherwise expensive task. I have been acquiring old speakers and amplifiers over the past 3 years, and have been using the speakers to make custom cabinets and make everyone look, and sound, superb. I currently have 21 drivers spanning the 7.1 surround sound setup, which is my personal utopia when I am listening to music.

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations, I started rambling so it probably got boring…

Now you know who I am!

I hope you enjoy my blogs, I encourage you to check back every now and then to see how my school year progresses.

Thanks,

Graham Ornstein
